A Touch of Winter Gravel
Saturday 29 June
Come and ride some of the quiet gravel roads, trails and a rail trail on the Mornington Peninsula, passing the wineries and farms this area is famous for.
David will take you on a fabulous ride to discover the linking trails which run alongside the roads and horse trails. There will be a few punchy climbs that you’ll grind up whilst taking in spectacular views over Bass Strait and the hills of the Peninsula. Great coffee is always included!
We are planning a coffee stop around the halfway mark. Food & coffee is also available after the ride.
Start: Gravel Carpark Corner Pt Leo Rd & Baynes Rd, Red Hill South
Distance: Approx 55km
Elevation: Approx 1000m
Parking: Please don’t park outside the Cellar & Pantry Cafe. The starting point on the corner of Shoreham & Pt Leo Road is the gravel carpark opposite.
Your bike: Bikes must have appropriate gearing to climb the hills on this ride. The climbs can be 1-2 ks in length with some gradients varying between 2% & 10% on gravel. Riders should carry extra rain or spray jacket to wear when we stop for a coffee.
